Ceremonial Start
Ceremonial start was conducted at Kita Aikoku Service Park, and the rally has finally begun.
After the Rally Show, rally cars appeared at the start podium, and drove through the gate while fans surrounding at the podium are cheering them up, and those cars headed to the SS1 SATSUNAI RIVER, which is the first special stage of the Rally Hokkaido.
Prior to the ceremonial start, a wedding ceremony was held at the top of the podium, for a couple who fist met each other at an international rally in Hokkaido as marshals. They were cerebrated by rally fans there. It must have been an unforgettable moment for the two.
Shakedown
TOyota 86, as 00 car, opened a shakedown stage of Rally Hokkaido 2013. Each of the participant cars ran with 2 minutes interval on the course which will be used as SS1 tonight. The shakedown continued for 1 hour.
Scrutineering
Here in Super Pit, located in Nishi 8 Minami 9, Obihiro, scrutineering of rally cars are in progress, prior to the start of the event. From 9am today the scrutineering is scheduled for JRC cars, and each cars are receiving scrutiny for their compliance for competition safety regulations in addition to the car legal scrutineering check for general cars.
Those cars will be returning to Kita Aikoku service park to receive final service by mechanics, and will start the rally from the Super SS 1, from 18:00 tonight.

Mr. Kimata has passed away
Mr. Iwao KIMATA, who was originally nominated as an ASN-appointed steward for the Rally Hokkaido this year, has passed away on the 4th of July.
We pray that his soul may rest in peace.
