A local organization of Rally Hokkaido supporters, “International Rally Support Association” held a warm welcome party for crews, teams and all the concerned people, at Kita Aikoku service park.
Even though the crews are rivals each other, they are also also comrades challenging difficult stages in the Tokachi region doing their best. And thus together they were spending happy moments, some are laughing at good jokes, while others are renewing their friendship after a year since the last Rally Hokkaido. The tasty barbecue and various local foods helped the crews to relax before the serious competition starting tomorrow.

0 car and 00 car has visited Rally HQ today. Like last year, 0 car is Subaru BRZ driven by Kozue Oi. Akihiko Saka drives 00 car, but this year his car is Toyota 86. Those two cars are regarded as symbol of re-empowerment of motorsports in Japan, and those must gather a lot of attentions by rally fans.

Rally Hokkaido secretatriat
At 9am on September 23rd, Monday, the main service park is opened for competitors and teams to bring in their cars and service equipment. As of the noon of the first day, most of the vast space in Kita-aikoku is open – but we do see some activities of early-arriving people and gears. More and more to come in a few days and the entire place will be filled with excitement again.
Some team did the job so promptly that it look as if they are ready for the rally.
The cars of the top two drivers competing for the championship with only 0.5 point gap. Lappi and Gill both drives Skoda Fabia S2000, in the same Skoda/MRF team. Their battle will make the Rally Hokkaido 2013 even more exciting.
Next week is the week of Rally Hokkaido! Everyone is busy working very hard at permanent secretariat, with the mood of excitment and eagerness for the coming event. Today we worked till very late, loading a lot of gears and stuffs to a truck to head to Tokachi – the truck is now filled with rally signages, rescue equipment, road books and various rally gears, and of course Rally Hokkaido merchandises for sale!
On next Monady, the actions in Tokachi will begin – service park will be made available for teams to bring their containers and gears. We are looking forward to seeing you – competitors, team crew, officials, marshals, spectators and – of course citizens in Tokachi region, who always gives us warm welcomes.
